SpiceJet Launches New Routes to Manage Air Traffic

With increasing air traffic in the festive season, low-cost carriers have tried to fly more aircraft to manage the pressure. With festivals like Navratri, Diwali and Id, a huge number of people are travelling across the country. Domestic airlines have struggled to manage this sudden boost after the usual slump period in the previous months. This is a period when flight booking shows a magnanimous boost owing to popular festivals. This year, however, has seen a change as the airlines have taken ample steps to take the pressure uniformly. This has so far maintained a steady flow of air traffic till now.

Kolkata-Aurangabad via Hyderabad

SpiceJet has been introducing new routes steadily since the beginning of the year. It has now introduced a new flight in the route connecting Aurangabad with Kolkata via Hyderabad. Keeping in mind the major festival of the Bengalis, Durga Puja, managing passengers to and from Kolkata is an uphill ask during this period. To tackle it cleverly, SpiceJet has introduced this flight. Also, this gives an additional opportunity to people staying in Aurangabad. This city is now directly connected with major destinations like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Agartala and Thiruvananthapuram.

This low-cost airline has constantly worked to improve its services, along with adding number of destinations to its operations. The year 2012, marked a historic year for SpiceJet booking, with it becoming the first Indian carrier to fly a Delhi-Kabul flight. These new steps are sure to boost the business of the company, which will be reflected in the market shares. The festive season is supposed to carry on till the end of the month of January with Christmas and New Year celebrations round the corner. This carrier is sure to cash in during this period to boost its market shares to the top of the list.
