About the Pagoda
This meditation hall is located in the north-western part of Mumbai in the Gorai area. Constructed on the peninsula between the Arabian Sea and Gorai creek, this monument was inaugurated in the year 2009, by the then President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil. The purpose of this pagoda is to spread the message of global peace and harmony. This place has been built as gratitude towards Lord Buddha, his teachings and followers. This monument has traditional Burmese architecture, with the design of the pagoda resembling the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar.
