SpiceJet, a leading low-cost private airline in the country, has made an announcement that it will start international flight service from Ahmedabad to Muscat, the capital of Oman, in the month of August. The flights will operate on the Ahmedabad-Muscat route thrice in a week and will be using a 189-seater Boeing aircraft. Muscat is the ninth international destination, which this airline will be serving. At present, it has flight services to destination such as Colombo, Kathmandu, Kabul, Riyadh, Sharjah, Male and Guangzhou. Experts believe that connecting these thriving trade and commerce centres will help them to improve their trade relations. Flight ticket booking for this route is likely to start soon, and there is a good chance that there will be more takers for this route.
Proposed Days of Travel
The statement released by the airline recently, mentions that three days on which flights would operate from Ahmedabad to Muscat would be Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays while the return journey would be on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. However once these flights start, it will interesting to see if any changes would be made later on.
The introductory fare for this flight has been keep at Rs. 5999 for one-way, which might not be the cheapest air fare deal by the carrier as yet but is a great price to woo initial customers. It is to be seen that whether there would be discounts on this rate if booked in advance of three months, which seems to be the trend these days among various domestic airlines of India.
